Welcome to the blog of NSW strata investigative journalism

Subject: SP52948 - Eagle Fire Inspection of Lot 158
Date: 3/3/20, 6:04 pm

Following a recent inspection by Eagle Fire Protection they found the following issues in relation to your front door and your immediate assistance is required:

Item # 119

Unit Door

Peephole

Please supply the manufacturers corresponding information to support that the peep hole is compliant. We will have our door specialist investigate to determine if a new door is needed.

Item # 120

Unit Door

Non-compliant "Snake" on door

Advisement only - Non-compliant snake to be removed from fire door

As a result it is necessary for you to provide a certificate of compliance confirming that the peep hole is indeed compliant.

Failure to provide this certificate may result in the front door needing to be replaced as it is a fire rated door and the peep-hole installation may have negatively impacted the fire-rating. It is also our understanding that the peep-hole may have been installed without Owners Corporation approval.

In addition, it is necessary that the draught stopper “Snake” at the bottom of your front door be removed.

Photos below are provided for your record.

Your urgent assistance would be appreciated.

Frank Tallaridi
