Subject: SUMMARY: Questionable blame on M2 workers for damaged fence in July 2013
Date: 11/11/13, 3:13 pm

Hello,

Back in late July 2013, I found out that part of the fence within Macquarie Gardens residential property was damaged.

I provided you with the photo of the damage at the time.

I asked the caretaker's staff to investigate it too. Then you replied that the damage was allegedly done by the M2 sound barrier wall workers.

At the time, due to my busy work schedule, I did not investigate it further.

On that given day, I do not remember seeing any staff from M2 project near our residential complex in Macquarie Park.

The fact is that owners corporation paid $577.50 (GST inclusive) for the repair.

I then decided to check it myself as it would be unfair to blame the innocent party for the damage. Had it really been problem that M2 workers created, the Caretaker would and should have acted upon it immediately.

Number of contacts with M2 managers were completed and as of today, their final response was provided:

I have been corresponding with the engineers who worked on the noise wall in the area that you have described.

I have investigated the issue and unfortunately, at this stage we have no evidence to show that the damage to the fence was caused by a member of the Hills M2 Upgrade team.

I appreciate your interest in this issue, at this stage I am unable to help obtain any further information that might help you. I will however, continue to look out for any details that come to light in regards to this issue and will contact you as soon as I hear something.

The bottom line: I would be very careful to blame parties without proof.
